UHC Pro Cycling Team Receives Invitations for 2014 Paris-Roubaix and La Fléche Wallone

UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team has just received formal invitations from the Amaury Sport Organization to attend the 112th edition of Paris-Roubaix and the 78th edition of La Fléche Wallone.

Paris-Roubaix is one of the five monuments in the sport of cycling, and one of the oldest and most prestigious one-day classics in the world. Starting in northern France and ending in Belgium, Paris-Roubaix is known for its extreme difficulty, treacherous cobblestone sections and long, deep history. La Flèche Wallone is the first in a very important and storied series of one-day races known as the Ardennes classics.

The team is proud and honored to be included in the list of world-class teams attending these very important races. General Manager, Mike Tamayo commented, “Getting Wildcard selections for both Paris-Roubaix and La Flèche Wallone is an enormous honor. We have worked very hard over the past couple years to establish ourselves as a global brand and team. Having a rider like Martjin Maaskant who has finished 4th in Roubaix before gives us ample motivation to support him.”

Sports Director, Hendrik Redant will lead the UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team through this campaign with his many years of experience both as a successful rider and director for several top-level teams in the famed spring classics. Ecstatic with the news, he added, “Paris-Roubaix is the most legendary of all the classics. As a rider, you love it or you hate it. There's nowhere in-between! Nothing compares to this race, it’s the ultimate challenge for riders and bikes. If you win it, you enter cycling history and the Hall of Fame forever!”
